Mi nombre es Jorge Flores, nací y crecí en Honduras, un país muy pequeñito en Centroamérica. Terminé mi educación primaria, secundaria y parte de la preparatoria en mi país natal, y emigré a los Estados Unidos a la edad de 15 años. Terminé mi preparatoria en la Escuela Sweetwater en la ciudad de National City. Cuando terminé la preparatoria, fui al Colegio Comunitario Southwestern de  la ciudad de Chula Vista. Después, me transferí a la Universidad Estatal de San Diego (SDSU),de donde obtuve una licenciatura en español y después una maestría en literatura española y latinoamericana. En el 2010, tuve la oportunidad de mudarme a la ciudad de Las Vegas en el estado de Nevada, donde impartí clases de matemáticas en la Escuela Secundaria JD Smith. Al mismo tiempo, asistí a la Universidad de Nevada en Las Vegas, de donde obtuve una maestría en educación. Este es mi quinto año aquí en EJE, y al igual que todos los años anteriores, me siento muy agradecido y feliz de formar parte de esta fenomenal escuela y por el equipo que formamos ustedes, sus hijos y todos los que formamos parte de la familia EJE.

My name is Jorge Flores. I was born and raised in Honduras, a small country in Central America. I completed my elementary school, my middle school and part of my high school education in my home country. At age 15, my family moved to the United States, having in mind that we would have a lot more opportunities here.I completed my high school education at Sweetwater High School in National City.  After high school, I attended Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista, from there, I transferred to San Diego State University where I obtained first a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and later a Master’s degree in Spanish and Latin American Literature. In 2010, I had the opportunity to move to Las Vegas, where I taught for 3 years at JD Middle School, while attending the University of Nevada in Las Vegas (UNLV), from where I obtained a Master’s Degree in Education. This is my fifth year here at EJE, and as every year, I feel extremely thankful and happy to be part of this amazing school, and to form a team with you and your child.
