¡Hola! Mi nombre es Marco Medina, este será mi primer año como maestro, pero he estado en EJE durante bastante tiempo trabajando en el programa de enriquecimiento y ayudando en varias otras partes de la escuela. También completé mi tiempo como maestro en practica aquí en EJE en una clase de tercer grado. Valoro tanto la educación bilingüe porque como estudiante que inmigró solo hablando español, experimenté una educación monolingüe en la que me estresé por no tener el apoyo de los maestros ni de la comunidad porque no entendían mis necesidades. Estoy muy agradecido de poder experimentar los beneficios de tener una educación bilingüe. Recibí mi licenciatura de la Universidad Estatal de San Diego en Estudios Liberales con Énfasis en Educación Primaria en 2020 y completé mi Programa de Credenciales Bilingües de Materias Múltiples en 2021. Este año construiré relaciones para crear un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo y estoy muy emocionado de enseñar 3er grado.

Hello! My name is Marco Medina this will be my first year teaching but I have been at EJE for quite some time now working in the after school program and helping out in various other parts of the school. I also completed my student teaching here at EJE in a third grade class. I value bilingual education so much because as a student who immigrated only speaking Spanish, I struggled not having the support of teachers and community who understood my needs. I am so grateful I was able to experience the benefits of having a bilingual education first hand. I received my Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in Elementary Education in 2020 and completed my Multiple Subject Bilingual Credential Program in 2021. This year I will build relationships to create a positive learning environment and I am very excited to teach 3rd grade.
