Hello,
        
       My name Is Perla Gil and I graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education. I have taught Physical Education to TK-8th  grade for the past eight years. My passion is to provide a quality physical education program that increases physical competence, health-realted fitness, self-responsiblity and enjoyment of physical activity for all students so they can be physically active for a lifetime.
 
Mission
I will strive to provide a positive quality and purposeful learning environment to build life-long healthy and active individuals.
 
Vision
My vision is that every student, when leaving EJE Academies, will be independent, critical thinkers and proficient movers that develop the discipline to live a healthy and long life.

I 'm committed to the pursuit of excellence in creating an environment that provides education that instills an appreciation for lifelong learning through development of knowledge, skills, social and emotional growth, responsibility, and sportsmanship. Every student will cultivate a commitment to life-long physical activity and healthy lifestyles through integrity, leadership, movement concepts, strategies and tactics and health related fitness.

Drop Everything and Move Daily- April

This calendar encourages families to become more physically active and to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle. Each day, students are asked to complete a different activity with a family member (or with adult supervision).

Este calendario fomenta a las familias a ser más activas físicamente y a dar pasos hacia un estilo de vida más saludable. Cada día, se les pide a los estudiantes que completen una actividad diferente con un miembro de la familia (o con la supervisión de un adulto).

Home Physical Education Parent/Student Letter

Dear students and family members,

The physical education team at our school is working with resources from OPENPhysEd.org to help you stay physically active and healthy while our schools are closed. In order to meet physical education goals during this time students must be physically active for 60 minutes each day. Use the following resources daily and complete each daily activity that has been posted:

- DEAM Drop Everything and Move

-  1 Week Activity Log

- 2 Week Fitness Journal

- March Mind and Body Calendar Daily Activities 

Remember, activity time doesn’t have to happen all at once. You can add up your total activity throughout the day to equal 60 minutes. Students, at the end of each day ask a family member to sign next to the day’s total activity. Then, return the finished log to your physical education teacher when school is back in session.

This fitness journal is your instructional guide through a 2-week wellness home study. Follow the instructions on each page, complete the exercises and writing prompts, and then return your finished journal to your physical education teacher.
 
Begin on Monday, March 23rd.

Drop Everything and Move Daily Activity

Start at Day 1 - After a student completes a day’s activity, adults make a check mark and initial in the space provided. Each week, you can miss one day (activity). If this happens, put an “X” in the space provided for a check mark.
