Mission, Vision, and Core Values

The vision of EJE Elementary Academy is to provide a comprehensive and challenging educational plan that provides all children with the tools necessary for future success. Students will become critical thinkers, biliterate, well-prepared, life-long learners through participation in a teacher-directed program, based on a balanced biliteracy approach in reading and language arts. The curriculum is aligned to the California State Content and Performance Standards. Grade level proficiency is seen as a key to promotion to the next grade as well as to eventual secondary school readiness.

EJE Elementary Academy will measure students' academic achievement regularly for the purpose of making the necessary improvements to the educational program. Resources will be effectively and efficiently utilized to maximize student performance and provide a benchmark of excellence and accountability.

On February 17th, our students were treated to an inspirational presentation by artist, and creative thinker, Simón Silva. Silva is the illustrator of Alma Flor Ada’s book, “Gathering The Sun”. As a child, Silva and his family moved from Mexico to California to work in the fields. Silva began working in the fields at age 8. “I used art as a means of escape from my home life and as a way to be recognized in a positive manner in school”. “Art was very special for me because it nurtured by self esteem”. “It was basically all I had,” explains Silva.
