Welcome to a New School Year!

My name is Rhea F. Faeldonea-Walker, and I am incredibly proud to be your Principal at EJE Dual Language Academy. My journey to school leadership is rooted in a lifelong passion for language, community, and the transformative power of education.

I was born in the Philippines and am a proud product of dual-language immersion. Growing up bilingual, I learned firsthand how moving between English, Filipino (Tagalog), and regional dialects expands a student's world. This foundation led me to the University of the Philippines, where I graduated with a BA in Broadcast Communication at just 20 years old, before immigrating to America in 1998.

My path as an educator in the United States began with a moment of mentorship. While working my very first job at Jack in the Box, a local middle school teacher recognized my potential and encouraged me to become a Teacher’s Aide. That spark changed everything. I went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Cross-Cultural Teaching and a Single-Subject Clear Credential in English from National University, launching a rewarding classroom career. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching English and Filipino at Bell Junior High, and later serving adult education, independent studies, and high school students at Sweetwater Union High School District.

Beyond the classroom, I have dedicated myself to shaping high-quality instructional systems. As a District English Curriculum Specialist, I designed and supported robust educational frameworks; helped the district transition to the Common Core State Standards by furthering Common Core curriculum, instruction, assessment; and facilitated engaging professional development sessions and coached classroom teachers. Driven to make a broader systemic impact, I earned my Administrative Credential from San Diego State University in 2016 and successfully served the school community as an Assistant Principal at Hilltop Middle School and Castle Park High School.

Throughout my career, my guiding philosophy has remained unwavering: “I am committed to systems of support that dedicate themselves to equitable, quality outcomes for all students to achieve college- and career-readiness and to develop multi-dimensional skills in becoming members of a global community.”

This philosophy perfectly mirrors EJE Academy's mission. I am eager to collaborate with our wonderful parents and guardians, dedicated staff, and brilliant students to ensure everyone excels, grows, and helps build a more just and equitable world. Please stop by to say hello—I cannot wait to work together!
