Manuel Agundez
Hello! My name is Manuel Agundez and this is my 4th year at EJE Academies. I was born and raised here in San Diego and have spent most of my life in the city of Chula Vista. As a child I was pushed toward music from my family, which consists mainly of musicians, but I began playing an instrument until the age of 12. I participated in band for 5 of the 6 years in middle school and high school playing the trumpet. In middle school, I was section leader of the beginning and advanced band in 7th and 8th grade respectively. Once in high school I took a year break to focus more on academics where I joined the pre-IB program at Castle Park High School. I rejoined music 10th-12th grade and was section leader for two years and brass leader for one. I graduated high school with an IB diploma and was part of the academic team at my school. Once in college, I started working for Escuela de Música in an after school program teaching children how to read and play music. I was also an AVID tutor and focused on Calculus and Science. I'm very grateful for the opportunity I have of working at EJE and teaching children about music at such a young age. In my spare time I enjoy soccer, practicing my instruments, playing strategy games, reading, and watching movies.
